About
The Brunei Students' Research Symposium (BSRS) 2016 is the flagship event run by the Brunei Postgraduate Society (BPS) in the United Kingdom and Eire. The one-day symposium is to be held on 19th March 2016, targeting Bruneian students interested in research, in line with the event's theme, "Enhancing Research Prowess". The event is a platform to allow these students to present any aspect of their current, previous or future research.
Aims
The overall aim of the symposium is for students to showcase their researches to others, generate quality discussions amongst attendees regarding the research areas, and in turn, it would potentially elevate research qualities and quantities in the future.
Objectives
- To showcase student research interests, in the past, current or future endeavours.
- To encourage discussion and debate among students, as well as to obtain constructive feedback in improving their research projects.
- To facilitate the creation of a network of students and academics to act as a support system, and to pursue issues that arose during the symposium.
- To enable students from different academic fields of research to understand how their research, skills and abilities can be beneficial to Brunei's development plan.
- To enable Brunei-based and/or Brunei-centric academics, researchers and policymakers to highlight current issues, and suggest research questions.
- To discuss the challenges and future of research in Brunei, and to cultivate interest in academic research as a most esteemed and valued occupation.
